Matt Commerce is a Virginia-born singer/songwriter, whose style blends catchy melodies with acoustic guitar and a smooth soulful voice.

 

A student of cello and stand-up bass as a child, Commerce picked up the guitar at age twenty, and within two years became a full-time performer.   Matt moved to California, and began playing shows up and down the West Coast.  He formed a band, and recorded his debut release “Closer Than You Realize”, which was described as having "addictive melodies you find yourself humming long after you've listened..." (North County Times) and "one of the most pleasant aural surprises in quite some time..." (San Diego Troubadour). The San Diego City Beat added ""It would be hard to find another artist who exudes as much uplift in such a believable way." Commmerce's voice was voted by NBC San Diego as one of the city's "Top 10 Voices."  

 

Commerce took his talents to L.A. where he continued perform full-time and grow as a performer, maturing his sound and songwriting, and meanwhile sharing the stage with legendary artists such as Usher, Sheryl Crow, Natasha Bedingfield, and Stevie Wonder.

 

Matt is currently splitting time between coasts, performing for events all around the USA, and working on his upcoming record.
